First Design Post!

As promised, I said that I would post one of my designs today! Look familiar? It's actually the design I used on my "Summer 2009 Designs" cover! Just that you can see the whole outfit that is haha. If you must, you may criticize on my bad drawings xD I can't draw people very well despite the fact that I critique on Anime character design >_<

Okay now describing my design, you can see a mini dress, a white jacket, and a belt. Now the belt doesn't matter, it could of been any other design. It's not a big deal if the belt is not the exact same as the one in the design. Just as long as it goes with the outfit, its all good!

Mini dress

The Mini dress is a strapless dress and as you can see, the top of the dress there are small "frills" (okay they kinda look like frills but you know what I mean xD) since the dress would have had an extremely low v-neck. At the bottom of the outfit there is a small "color block" part which I guess this dress would be called a "Color block mini dress". What the material that I think should be used is a shimmery type...not metallic, shimmery.

Open Jacket

As the topic says, the main focus is the open jacket. The open jacket...well...it just has no buttons or zippers to close the jacket; which is where the purpose of the belt comes in. Now theres nothing too special about the jacket besides that the front ends are longer going down (kinda like a those really nice and big wool cardigans which makes me want to go out shopping again >_<) such that it is shorter from behind.

Belt

Now for the belt, like I said, it does NOT have to look like or similar to the belt in the design BUT!! Keep in mind that it should be a bigger belt. The skinny belts won't hold very well much less visible and the white would take over completely. The belt should give off a bit of a more chic look so big rainbow belts cannot come into play unfortunately. Also, seeing that the jacket would be a white color, I'd recommend that you'd be better off with a white or black colored belt.

Events of Today

So today I got up bright an early...okay I lied. It's more like gloomy and early. It has been raining ever since last night and I only had about 4 hours of sleep. Moving on, I kept my schedule and my first stop was Winners. For those who don't know, Winners is basically a store that sells designer clothing at a reduced price. So for those who live in the states, they would call it "Ross" (I've shopped there too when I visit the states xD) After about 30 minutes of going "UGH nothing looks good here!" Or, "Even though the price was reduced by half its still too expensive" remarks, I managed to pick myself a shiny pink sleeveless and a pair of big sunglasses from XOXO.

Please try to ignore the fact that the photo is just a tad blurry and that its one of those bathroom photos =]

After Winners, I decided to also drive down to the local mall near my home. I had to buy matching jeans for all the clothes I was getting that I was buying on and off the internet. Here's a little secret, I have not worn jeans in about 2 to 3 years! I always wore sweats or yoga pants, even during the winter I still wore them haha okay getting back on track, I had to buy jeans for the first time in 3 years. Now to be honest, I am not picky about where I get my jeans from. As long as they look good and that they're cheap (and yes this is coming from a person that likes fashion design). Here's a question: "Where would be the first place to go and buy jeans that are cheap"? The answer is, "WAL-MART". Yes, I said Wal-mart and I managed to buy two pairs of Jeans for 18 bucks each. Now THAT'S what I call money saving! I couldn't find anything else worth wearing in Wal-mart (besides that I noticed that 725 Originals clothing has some similarities to the asian clothing that I like. Strange hey?) so, I paid and I took a round of the mall.

I went to my usual stores like Costa Blanca, Fairweather, occasionally American Eagle Outfitters and Urban Behaviour. Unfortunately nothing was on sale until I walked past Bluenotes. They were having a buy one get one half off on all Jeans and Tops so I took a stroll, and I ended up buying a blue plaid button-up top and I bought a pair of Jeans for my sister. Her jeans were about $35.00 in which in my opinion, pretty expensive haha. My top (which got the 50% off) costed about $12.25. I saved about twenty dollars so that's not too bad. If only they took off 50% off the jeans THEN life would be good but what would even be better is that if there was a Forever21 in the mall! There is no Forever21's here in the city AND province that I live in...kinda depressing =[ We don't even have an H&M or Ambercrombie & Fitch store >_<

Overall today, for what I've bought I'm pretty satisfied...Minus not finding any belts and hats and that I completely forgot to buy a new set of ipod headphones. Silly me.

What did you buy this summer? Leave a comment!
