Exams are over, time for winter break!

Hey everyone!

So as you can see, I'm done my exams, and right now, all I care is that I just pass all those courses that I wrote exams for haha as long as I don't fail or my GPA drops too much that is.
Some things came up during my exams that definitely affected my studying for these exams and I barely made through them. Some of my friends already know why, I don't know if I was just over thinking too much or just the stress and frustration from different things just kind of squished together and just blew up on me. This always seems to happen during exams, in which is really really not good for me :(

I never realized how short this winter break is. It's only about two weeks long, and then back to school for another semester. Courses I'm taking are:

  • Human Resources
  • Mandarin
  • Introduction to Financial Accounting (I dropped it last semester, couldn't risk getting a really low mark)
  • Introduction to Management Sciences
  • Critical Thinking
Christmas Break Plans

Most of my break will actually be working, as per usual, but I get to at least do a few things with some friends. I never went out with friends during the winter break because I always had to go to work but because of the great friends that I made in the past year, I get that opportunity :)

Today is actually one of the biggest days. For lunch (which is currently being made) I get to eat tang yuan because it's the Winter Solstice Festival (冬至) today. Later on for dinner, I'll be going out with the Badminton Club for all-you-can-eat sushi to celebrate Christmas. Apparently there will be around 35 people there! That's a lot! Then later at night, at around 10 or 10:30, me and a few of my friends from the Badminton club will head on over to the Commerce Social (over 3000 people will be there!)

For Christmas Day, I'll be at work, but I will hopefully be able to leave work early and go to my friends Dorm at the University and eat hot pot together. My family doesn't really celebrate Christmas anymore, so it's okay that I can go. It'll be a lot of fun I think because I've never celebrated Christmas with friends let alone at the University of all places haha.

On the 27th, will hopefully go out for Sushi again since I got these $50 gift certificates that I bought for $30 and I need to use it before the end of the year. After the sushi, I'll hopefully go to my friends place to go sing some Karaoke.

On the 28th, there will be a pot luck lunch (-_-;; I don't understand why it's a lunch and not a dinner still haha) and afterwards, we will go out for Karaoke. I still don't really know what I'll make for the pot luck. Currently I'm thinking about just making a Curry Beef dish with Onions, Potatoes, and Carrots.

Last time to go out will probably be after New Years because of work. My plan is to go out with 3 of my high school friends for dinner since I have not been able to see them in more than a year now, and I miss them a lot. There's a lot to catch up about and a lot of us have changed, so I think it would be fun. There's definitely going to be a lot of "girl talk", that's for sure.

New Years Resolution

  1. Focus on school! Although I've fixed some of my procrastination issues, I still procrastinate too much, and I need to improve on that.
  2. Work out at the gym more often and learn how to do a proper work out. I always just run on the treadmill and do a lot of leg exercises, I never do enough upper body exercises
  3. Be more patient and think things through more carefully. Everyone says I'm patient, but to me, I feel like I don't have any hahaha
  4. Make more blog entries whenever I have a chance (Although I think I improved on this...that or it's because of my procrastination haha)

After New Years, I will post all the pictures of the events. Will probably split it up too in case I take too many photos. Of course all of the photos will also be posted on my Facebook for my friends to see.

Recent Occurrences

So a couple of weeks ago, Amy and I sent a package to our two friends that are in 兰州 (Lan Zhou), China. They finally received it yesterday, and in return, we're expecting something from them and they e-mailed us photos, a video of them opening up the gifts, and a trailer for their "short film" haha. Watching them being silly as they had always been even when they were here in Canada, it actually made me miss them a lot more because it reminds me of all the fun times we had last year when we were studying or just hanging out. Even if I talk to them a few times a week on MSN, Skype or 人人网, nothing can beat talking to them in person in the same place face-to-face.

Watching those videos also really showed me how much they mean to me and how much me, Amy, and our other friends mean to them. Now that's what I call true friendship :) I hope I can see them again soon! It's already been too long since I last saw them (since April I think so it's been about nine months).

Music to my Ears

Last blog, I didn't really say much about the current music that I've been listening to recently. Right now I'm still in a whole "I LOVE JJ LIN (林俊杰)" phase. I finally downloaded his 她说 album that was recently released. Although a lot of the songs were sad songs, it helped me get through a really rough spot the day before my exam. I had a complete unexpected breakdown which resulted in me not being able to study at all and sulking in my room after I got home from school. 8 hours later of listening to his music, I finally felt a lot better and went to bed to almost fully recover. I guess I just let everything build up inside of me. But back to the music...haha well I think that everyone should go take a listen.

Besides JJ, I've also taken a liking to the song 放生 sung by 关心妍. Here's the video:

See you after New Years! Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :)
